PharmaceuticalDrugLilly Inc. (NYSE: LLY) today announced that it has received regulatory approval for a generic version of Levitra® for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. The generic version of Levitra® is Lilly’s first line of treatment for ED. Levitra® is an FDA-approved drug to treat ED in men with a reduced ability to achieve and maintain an erection sufficient for satisfactory sexual performance.
BackgroundLevitra® was approved by the U. S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) on July 21, 2003, to treat erectile dysfunction (ED) in men. On July 10, 2003, Lilly acquired rights to market the brand-name version of Levitra® (vardenafil), a generic version of Levitra®. The rights to the brand-name Levitra® and the generic Levitra® and its generic equivalents have also expired, and Lilly will no longer produce Levitra® and its generic equivalents to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
On June 17, 2011, the FDA approved the generic version of Levitra® to treat erectile dysfunction in men. This generic formulation of Levitra® was also approved by the FDA on July 11, 2011, to treat erectile dysfunction in men.
For the treatment of erectile dysfunction, a prescription of either generic or brand-name Levitra® is required. This generic Levitra® is available in a convenient-to-swallow blister pack format. The brand-name Levitra® is available by prescription only. Both brand-name and generic Levitra® are used to treat ED.

Drug manufacturer Bayer’s patent on Levitra expired 31 October 2018, following in the footsteps of Pfizer’s Viagra and Lilly’s Cialis, whose patents expired in 2013 and 2017 respectively.
A phosphodiesterase-5 (PDE5) inhibitor, Levitra was introduced to the market in 2003, around the same time as Viagra and Cialis. It enhances blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme normally responsible for regulating, or limiting, that blood flow.
Also known by the name of its active ingredient,, Levitra offers help with sexual performance and improves sexual relationships affected by erectile dysfunction.
Club drugs include Ecstasy (MDMA), the ‘date rape drug’ (Rohypnol), Crystal meth or Speed (Methamphetamine), acid (LSD), Special K (Ketamine) and Poppers (amyl nitrates). Increasingly the dangers of these drugs are escalated by taking more than one at the same time.

Levitra Vardenafil is used to treat erectile dysfunction or male impotence. Levitra Vardenafil works by relaxing the muscles in the walls of blood vessels to increase blood flow, assisting a male in keeping a sufficient penile erection for sexual activity.
